Bangladesh police have requested Interpol to issue a red notice against the deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 11 others. The men are accused of conspiring to destroy the interim government and incite civil war. Currently the interim government is led by leading economist Mohammad Younus.
Bangladeshi police have recently registered a case against Sheikh Hasina and 72 others, including serious allegations such as civil war conspiracy, corruption, and mass murder in the country. According to reports, more than 100 cases against Sheikh Hasina are pending.
Assistant Inspector General of Police Headquarters (Media) Inayat -ul -Haq Sagar has confirmed that Interpol has been requested for a red notice. “These requests are made under the allegations that come out during interrogation or trial,” he said.

“Interpol helps, identifying the desired persons, searching for their location, and temporary arrest,” he added.
According to the Bangladeshi newspaper “Daily Star”, the proceedings were taken at the request of the courts, government lawyers or investigating agencies. The Chief Prosecutor’s Office of the International Crimes Tribunal regularly recommended the help of police headquarters from Interpol in November last year.
Pakistani Foreign Office response to Bangladesh’s apology
Sheikh Hasina fled Bangladesh on August 5 last year, when a student movement ousted his 16 -year -old Awami League government. He is currently based in India. Most of his government ministers have either been arrested or left the country to avoid serious allegations.
