Apple has issued a very important security update for iOS 18.4.1 and other devices warning its users. This update eliminates two serious security flaws that cyber attackers have really used.
According to Apple, these dangerous flaws have been found in the ‘core audio’ and the ‘Pointer Ethics System’. Through these flaws, hackers could steal sensitive data by accessing the user’s audio streams and running unauthorized code on the affected device.
The nature and dangers of the attack
Apple said the attack on ‘Core Audio’ was a ‘targeting the most advanced and specific individuals’. If an audio file is developed and processed in a malicious manner, hackers may have the opportunity to do code Execution. The attacks were specifically targeting journalists and government officials.
The second major flaw is related to the ‘Return Pointer Ethics Code’ (RPAC), which is an important component of security in systems such as iOS, IPados, MacOS, TVOS and Visionos. The hackers obtained the Red and Rights Access on the devices by bypassing this feature.
