Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah says that it is the right of Sindh to protest against the canals on the Indus River. No one, including lawyers, was stopped from protesting.

Talking to media in Jamshoro, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the people of Sindh are united against the canal project and have taken a full stand of the province in front of the federal government.

Syed Murad Ali Shah says that it is the right of Sindh to protest against the canals on the Indus River. No one, including lawyers, stopped protesting.

Later, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah Dadu condoled the death of his father from Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah. He left without talking to the media after condolences.

Earlier, Sindh Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani also expressed serious concerns over the canal projects in the media. He said that the issue of canals is very important to both Sindh and Punjab and despite repeated identification, the issue is not being paid proper attention.

Saeed Ghani said, “We are repeatedly saying that the creation of canals will hurt the farmers of Sindh and Punjab. How can more canals be made when water shortages are already?”

He pointed out that there is severe water shortage in Sindh and Punjab at present and the current water is not possible this year. “It is our responsibility to fight the people of Sindh on every forum.
