Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s powerless municipal governments and representatives have been deprived of funds despite three years, the Village Counselor and Municipal Representatives have not been honored.
According to the report, local governments are established in all the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, but in practice they have neither funds, nor powers, despite the passage of 3 years, local representatives are craving one penny.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s powerless local governments and representatives were relieved of funds, the chairman of the Nibrical Hood and Village Councils is waiting for millions of rupees, while not all chairman has yet to receive a monthly award.
Tehsil and District Mayors are also waiting for the government’s “installments”. The development funds of Rs 90 billion have been approved, but the situation on the ground is zero.
Municipal representatives also protested repeatedly, but the provincial government was just avoided. Government claims to make the municipal system effective appear to be limited only to paper.
The existence of municipal governments is just the name. How will local governments solve public issues without transfer of powers and funds? This question is now in the language of every citizen.
