Lahore: Grand Health Alliance sit -in, Punjab government refuses to negotiate – Pakistan

The ongoing sit -in of the Grand Health Alliance on Mall Road in Lahore has paralyzed the city’s main business area, but the Punjab government has decided not to negotiate with the protesters.

According to sources, the government is of the view that no sit -in group will be blackmailed under pressure.

Sources say that if a group is discussed, there is a fear of protests and protests in other sectors, so the government has taken a strong stand.

It has also been revealed that a special committee set up by the Speaker Punjab Assembly did not allow the government to hold talks with the protesters, which makes it clear that a policy to ignore the protests at the higher government level has been adopted.

On the other hand, health department employees have been protesting against the proposed privatization measures for the past 14 days. Under the Grand Health Alliance, doctors, nurses and other para -medical staff demand that the privatization of hospitals be withdrawn, otherwise the protest will be intensified.

Traffic flow is severely affected due to a sit -in on the city’s main highway, while patients and their relatives are also having difficulty reaching the hospital.
