At the Senate meeting, condolence resolutions were unanimously approved in recognition of the services of senior politician, PPP Senator Taj Haider and Professor Khurshid Ahmed.
A meeting of the upper house was chaired by Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Law Minister Nazir Tarard said during the condolence speeches that the services of Senator Taj Haider will always be remembered.
He said that the Government of Pakistan also expressed condolences to the late family. Vice President PPP Senator Sherry Rehman, Opposition Leader Shabli Faraz, Senator Saleem Mandviwala and other members also praised the late political insight and democratic struggle.
The House paid tribute to the late Senator Taj Haider’s democratic, political and parliamentary services and paid tribute to him.
Leaders of various political parties gave condolences at a meeting chaired by Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani. The House unanimously approved condolences in recognition of the national services of Senator Taj Haider and Professor Khurshid Ahmed.
At the meeting, Senator Kamran Murtaza, Abdul Qadir, Aun Abbas Bappi also offered condolences and said that the struggle for the late is the flame for generations to come.
Senator Sherry Rehman presented the resolution for Taj Haider late, while Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarard presented the resolution for Professor Khurshid Ahmed. After that, the Senate meeting was adjourned indefinitely.
